The Humboldt County Library enjoys tremendous support
throughout the County. ‘Friends of the Library’ organizations exist in
nearly every branch library community. Through the work of the Friends, the
library is able to add more books and materials to its collections and offer
programs to enhance library services. Contact the Friends group in your
community for information on how to join.

Volunteers
are vital to the Humboldt County Library. On a daily basis, volunteers assist
patrons in the Humboldt room, shelve books, assist with children’s programs,
prepare materials for book sales, staff the Serendipity Bookstore and help with
a variety of special projects. The library currently
enjoys the help of over 170 volunteer system-wide. To volunteer at the library,
pick up an application at one of the public service desks, or print out the
application from here.
