of Second Floor - Main Library, Eureka

 |
- Microfilm and Microfilm
Reader-Printers are available in this room. Older magazines and
newspapers are here, some in print format and others in microfilm. You
will find a CCTV magnifier, used by readers with low vision, and a copy
machine, in this room.
- The Periodical Room Service Desk is staffed at the
hours when the library is busiest. Help is available in using microfilm
and microfiche, using the CCTV, and finding materials.
- The Humboldt Room.
This peaceful room, with a view of the harbor, is the showpiece of the
library. Here you will find our local history collection. Books, photos,
maps, journals, yearbooks, rare documents and other materials for reference
use are shelved here. A service desk, most often staffed by
helpful and knowledgeable volunteers, is located just inside the door on your
right as you enter. A copy machine is available for your use, featuring
both black and white and color copies.
-
Stairs and elevator to the first floor. The
elevator is entered from the art gallery. The stairs descend from the
hallway.
-
Second
Floor Emergency Exits: In an emergency, exit the second floor
by the STAIRS. You may use the ordinary stairs if
appropriate. The two emergency exit doors lead to emergency exit
stairs. Turn left at the bottom of the emergency stairs and follow the
signs to an exit that will take you out of the building.
